FCM Consulting Group was engaged by AristaCare at Alameda Center to identify energy saving opportunities. After analyzing the past 24 months of Alameda's utility billing and usage history, we were able to benchmark their present utility / fuel usage to provide a basis for measuring the success of identified energy management efforts. From this information we can provide our client with an estimate of the annual costs allocated to major energy-using equipment and systems such as lighting, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
The next step was to perform an energy audit of the facility to determine what equipment and systems are in place, their ratings, how they are used, their function, and their suitability to be upgraded, improved or better controlled to enhance their energy efficiency. Areas of focus were heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lighting, food service and refrigeration, and controls.
We investigated suitable control and equipment alternatives to existing systems and components, performing a return on investment (ROI) or payback analysis to quantify expected savings opportunities based on estimated implementation costs. From this menu of choices, we were able to make recommendations based on financial value and prioritized the choices based on AristaCare at Alameda's defined needs.
Once the choices were identified we presented a report with the results and identified cost-effective energy saving opportunities and provided recommendations on how to reduce costs.
